AlohaFest Toronto Returns!
Saturday, July 30th, 2016 @ Mel Lastman Square
11:00am – 7:00pm
The mission of AlohaFest Toronto is to educate the Greater Toronto community about the Aloha spirit by uniting the multiple hula hālau (hula schools) and other Polynesian-inspired organizations and businesses in the city to showcase Polynesian culture, art and dance.
AlohaFest Toronto will take place rain or shine on Saturday July 30th, 2016 from 11 am to 7 pm at Mel Lastman Square and will include dance and musical performances, food and crafts. The Square, which features 20,000 square feet of open space, is located in a bustling and influential area of North York and is home to numerous cultural events throughout the year. The outdoor amphitheatre can accommodate up to 3000 spectators. Located at 5100 Yonge Street by the North York Civic Centre, it is just steps away from shops, restaurants and public transit.
This ground-breaking event is sponsored by the Toronto-based Hālau Hula I Ka Lā (“Hula School in the Sun”). With our ‘ohana (family) at Hālau Hula I Ka Lā, we strive to live the values and principles of Aloha. We invite you to join us in Torontoʻs first and only united celebration of Polynesian culture.
